Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Many people use Botox injections to keep their youthful appearance, and whilst it may work for some, there are many cases of people taking the smoothing effects a little too far. A fantastic non-surgical alternative is cosmetic or facial rejuvenation acupuncture. It’s not a well-known practice, but the results are astounding in terms of not just making the face, but also the whole body to look and feel younger.

The facial rejuvenation Acupuncture treatment is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, and involves inserting very fine needles into the face and throughout the body, in particular areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, and legs along channels or meridians of energy called Qi. Specific points are chosen to manipulate the movement of energy in the body according to the individual’s needs. According to the patient’s underlying constitution and conditions, the practitioner will use these appropriate points while simultaneously treating the underlying factors that contribute to the aging process.

The effects of facial rejuvenation acupuncture can be very noticeable – fine lines and deep wrinkles are diminished, bags under eyes reduced, jowls firmed, puffiness eliminated, droopy eyelids lifted and double chins minimised. Further treatment can also help with dry skin (with increased local circulation of blood and lymph to the face), increased collagen levels, muscle tone, tightening of the pores, improving acne (by balancing hormones) and reducing overall stress evidence on the face.

Cupping has been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine, largely to move qi and blood and drain toxins from the body. Facial Cupping has been adapted to work on the face by improving blood circulation to the skin and gently stimulating cells which in turn produces collagen and elastin. This practice can assist with filling in fine lines, reduce puffiness and sagging jowls and introduces a warm, healthy glow to the skin.

Facial cupping does not leave any marks on the skin, is entirely painless and elicits a relaxing, warm feeling to the skin on the face and neck. The procedure itself takes approximately 15 minutes and involves the application of oil onto the skin, followed by the application of a small cup over the face which produces a suction, which is then moved down the neck towards the lymphatic area to drain excess fluid and increase blood flow. A small cup can also be placed on a deep wrinkle for a short period of time, thus increasing blood flow which in turn can assist in smoothing out the wrinkles. This treatment is also excellent for those suffering from sinusitis and colds.

This is then followed by a face and shoulder massage using Rosalena’s natural oil-based skincare range.

By combining Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, Facial Cupping and massage, the client experiences a long, relaxing treatment leaving them looking and feeling fully revitalised.
